Dear Parents and Guardians:
In October the Department for National Drug Control (DNDC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, will be conducting a Survey of Middle and Senior School Students on Alcohol, Tobacco, Other Drugs, and Health. Private schools and public schools will be participating in this initiative.
At MSA the survey will be administered to students in Grades 7 through 12 inclusive on Tuesday, October 13. If you would prefer that your child not participate please complete the attached letter and return it to Ms B Exell by 9 am on Tuesday, October 13.
This DNDC indicates that the Survey is critical to the development of intervention strategies to prevent the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by our adolescents. Similar surveys were previously conducted in 2003, 2007, and 2011 respectively. MSA has participated each time this survey has been administered.
The survey will be administered by the students’ homeroom teachers during the teacher advisory period. Students will be informed that the anonymous and confidential questionnaire is not a test.
