Newsletter 22 - 25 July 2018
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
Last Friday I had the privilege of attending the Opening Mass for the Performing Arts Festival with our Music Teacher, Mr Ostaszewskyj, and Year 6 students, Addison and Niamh. The mass was celebrated by Auxiliary Archbishop Don Sproxton, who spoke about the importance of schools coming together to celebrate the arts through choral singing, drama and liturgical dance. We look forward to our talented students here at Whitford Catholic taking part in this annual event.
First Holy Communion
Over the next few weeks, we ask that you pray for the Year Four students as they prepare to make their First Holy Communion and receive the body of Christ for the very first time. The First Holy Communion ceremonies will take part on the weekend of August 4th and 5th.
Parent and Child First Holy Communion Workshops
Thank you to those parents and children who participated in the Parent and Child Communion Workshops this week. The School and Parish acknowledge and value the role of parents as the first educators of their child’s faith and appreciate the important role you play in the faith journey of your child. The Year 4 students will attend a First Holy Communion retreat hosted by the 24:7 Youth Ministry this Thursday 26 July.
