September 2015

Welcome 2015-2016 School Year

We hope your little one is enjoying his/her first days of school. Remember, if your child is feeling anxious about school, we have several books available in the Success By Six Resource library that may help calm their fears.

Some Great Tips For a Fun Fall

There are so many wonderful resources right here in our area. Make it a day filled with fun Fall activities. Visit Johnson's Farm ,( Carolyn's Country Cousin Pumpkin Patch,(, Dunn's Cider Mill, for some delicious apple doughnuts, or even visit the KC Zoo. During the month of October, the Zoo will offer Hoots and Howls, with spooky, but not very scary, kid friendly fun every Saturday and Sunday.

We will begin holding Playgroups again in October. Keep watching for dates and times. We are still working out all the details. We are very excited to be able to do this again and hope you will bring the kiddos for some quality play time.

Parent As Teachers Families

School is back in session and we are gearing up for another great school year!

You will be hearing from your Parent Educator soon to schedule a visit. Remember to update your contact information by noting the best way to reach you and verifying your email address during the initial contact or by calling the office at 816-348-1029.

The schedules for Parent Educators are currently full this year with home visits and screenings, which have caused our program to start a waitlist of families that would like to access PAT services. We are asking that if you are unable to hold a visit please contact your Parent Educator 48 hours in advance so they can fill the appointment slot with another family.

We will be offering many new activities for you this year as well as some old favorites like Fall Fest and Messy Night. Information of upcoming events will be shared during home visits, by email or on the Grace Early Childhood Facebook page.

We believe you are your child’s first and most influential teacher. Parents as Teachers will partner with you to help give your child the best possible start in life.
