Susan G. Komen ~ 5K Run
We have created a team for the Susan G. Komen 5k run on November 15th in downtown Austin, and we would love for everyone in the Four Points community to join in the fight for a cure!
This is a very personal cause for me because my mother passed away from Pancreatic Cancer six years ago. She was able to fight a very aggressive cancer for two and a half years, using medications discovered from breast cancer research. I will always support this research because it gave me an extra two years with my mom.
I will be talking about the race this week during cheer class and all of the special plans we will make for October and #GoPink.
Please check out the link below to sign up to run, sponsor our team, and get more information on the race.
Student Charities - LISD Nurse Bins
Student Charities is a non-profit organization with the objective to provide nutritious food and alleviate hunger in our community through education and connections to community resources. One way this is achieved is by supporting the Leander Independent School District Backpack Program.
The Backpack Program sends backpacks home to families that may not otherwise eat over the weekend. Each backpack contains healthy food that feeds the child over the weekend.
This year Four Points Cheerleaders are holding a food drive to help stock nurses with snacks for those students that arrive at school hungry or otherwise would not have a snack. Please stay tuned for more information to come.
We will begin planning for this fundraiser after our fundraiser on Friday.
