DRESS CODE REMINDERS
Students are to wear their shoes at all times while in school. To encourage communication and reduce distractions, students may not wear hats indoors. Hat are welcome outside at recess.
We strongly encourage that all clothing, including hats be labeled with your child's first and last name.
CANAL SAFETY
Sage Elementary is close to many canals and all students need to be aware and know safety rules. Canals are dangerous and should not be used for any recreational activity. Even if the surface water appears smooth and calm, there are many areas where the current can swiftly pull an individual under—especially a child. The canal system and ditch roads of North Unit Irrigation District are considered private property and are not for public use. The district also periodically uses herbicides in the water, which can cause skin irritation.
- Never swim in irrigation canals.
- Keep young children and pets away from canals.
- Never jump in to rescue pets. Call 911 for help.
- Do not play near or on canal banks. They are steep and can be slippery.
SMARTER BALANCE TESTING
COVID-19 Test Available
The Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education recently sent COVID-19 test kits to every Title I school in the state, including Sage Elementary School.
Sage Elementary School received enough tests for every student to receive one of these test kits, which contain two rapid antigen tests. Families are encouraged to use these tests if they develop COVID-19 symptoms or have a known exposure to someone with COVID-19. You can learn more about these tests here.
The test kits are available in the nurse’s office at school. Please contact the school office if you’d like a test kit.
Stay healthy!
