AVID Things @ Murphy
The students collaborated in groups while utilizing their prior knowledge about finding the area of composite figures and discovered how to use nets to find the surface area of three-dimensional shapes. They organized their thought process by documenting similarities, differences, and questions on a Venn diagram
Ms. Waldron's 8th grade class is participating in a Socratic seminar to culminate the book Fahrenheit 451. The Socratic seminar encourages students to pull text evidence and discuss their evidence; which mimics commentary.
Mrs. Zaininger's Pre-AP English 1 class wrote and discussed their own level 2 and 3 questions while analyzing Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart."
Students in Ms. Fell's class have been working on student-led, collaborative study groups.
