Can you help!?
Will you help a Penny Road Panda have a great kick-off to their school year? Do you remember dropping your child off in the carpool line and thinking "How will they know where to go?"
For the first two weeks of school, we are in need of volunteers in the carpool line and the bus loop each morning from 8:45 to 9:15. You will help Kindergarten students (as well as any other new students) get to their classrooms safely and confidently. You won't regret seeing the smile on their faces when you help them safely reach their classroom (Younger siblings are more than welcome!)
Will you help an unsure Kindergartner? The second week of school, we need parents to help out during Kindergarten lunch (10:30 to 11:00). During this time, you will do things like help our littlest Pandas open things in their lunch boxes, navigate the lunch line, pack up when they are finished or find the bathroom. (Lunchtime is also the time when they might get a bit sad/homesick, so if you have a Kindergarten student we ask you not to volunteer in this way (to avoid any hiccups with your own child's transition).
If you would like to help us with either of these things, please sign up!
Fall Family Event!
Still need your Penny Road Spirit shirt?!
3 easy ways to order:
1. Spirit Wear can be ordered through the School Store. (Please be sure to include the teacher's name in the "note to seller" box so we know where to deliver.)
2. Return the order form that will be in the next Friday Flyer.
3. We will also be selling spiritwear at our first school store on Tuesday, September 19.
There are multiple spirit days planned throughout the year, so be sure to get your shirts!
Chess Club is back!
The Penny Road Elementary Spirit Rock is a great way to send a message for all to see! Congratulate your favorite student on an accomplishment, wish a student a Happy Birthday, show appreciation to your favorite teacher or staff member, celebrate a team win or let everyone know how much you love our school! The rock is available for weekly rental to families and staff of PRE for their use and enjoyment. Reserve the Spirit Rock for only $30.00 per week! All proceeds will go directly back to PRE through our PTA.
Sign-ups slots are already available for the entire 2017-18 school year!
