Principally Speaking

Happy November! I hope all of you are looking forward to our upcoming Thanksgiving Break! I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank our Nashua community Veterans for your dedicated service to the United States Armed Forces. We will forever be grateful for your bravery and sacrifices to protect our country's freedoms.Parents, thank you for actively participating in your child's education. It is important that your child sees you proactive and involved in their education. Our teachers truly appreciate your support and look forward to working closely with you this year, thanks again!

We are beginning our 2nd quarter of school and our staff is working diligently with our students to support academic success. Our teachers continue to provide students with rigorous learning experiences, are providing additional support to close academic gaps, and pushing high learners to excel further. I wish all of our students and families a joyous Thanksgiving this year. Enjoy the time off with your family; please don't forget students return back from break on November 30.

Directions for Accessing Grade Cards

Your child's first quarter grade card will be viewable online via Power School on November 10th. Below is the link to access your child's report card. Login using your username and password. *This will be the same username and password you used when completing online enrollment this year. If you don't remember your username or password, click "Forgot Username and Password". Once logged in, the "Grade Cards" tab is located on the left-hand navigation bar. Then click "2020-Q1" to view a PDF copy of your child's report card.

Inclement Weather

If school is delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, the district's automated system will call each home with notification about school closing or having a delayed opening. IF you have a call block on your phone you may not receive this call.

You will also find closing and delayed opening information on the district web page at www.nkschools.org

Weather Dress

With the on-coming of winter, please remember that we will continue to hold recess as often as possible. If the windchill is below 25 degrees, teachers can elect to modify outdoor recess or hold recess indoors.

Please be sure your child comes to school each day prepared for outdoor recess. They should have a winter coat, as well as hats and gloves. If it snows, we will go outside once the blacktop has been cleared of snow and ice. Also, students wait outside in the morning as buses arrive--they need to be warmly dressed then too!
