Tentative last day of school
This year, District 15 utilized four emergency closure days for inclement winter weather. Because of these closures, the last day of school has been pushed back to Monday, June 3.
As it does every year, the Board of Education must vote to approve the official last day of school, which will occur at its meeting on April 10. Once approved, official notice will be shared in the Board of Education e-newsletter and will be posted on the school district calendar.

Last chance to apply for a one-five Foundation mini-grant!
The one-five Foundation/Kathy Buesching Memorial Mini-Grant Program is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year.
The mission of the one-five Foundation is to acquire resources to be used for programs and
projects to enhance and supplement the educational experience of District 15 students.
For the 2019-2020 school year, the Foundation has decided to consider grants in two areas:
- The implementation of programs and/or projects
- The acquisition and application of technology
Specific funds have been allocated for each of these sub-groups. Relative to technology, the grant application must state the specific use of the technology and how it will be utilized and applied in the classroom. The technology grants are not designed to simply acquire new resources, but should demonstrate how it will be applied toward instruction.
Recognizing that some programs include smaller technology components, the Foundation will
evaluate all applications having 50 percent or more of their budget representing purchases evaluated under the technology group.
If you have a program, project or new technology that qualifies as an educational extra (i.e, not normally financed with taxpayer dollars) this would be a wonderful opportunity for you to apply.
Can it be replicated or otherwise serve as an inspiration to others? If so, please submit your application for review.
One-five Foundation mini-grant applications are due March 22, 2019. Only District 15 staff members or teachers may apply. Please follow the guidelines that accompany the application available to view on Google Drive. Winners will be notified by the Foundation office in late April, early May. We look forward to receiving your application.
