What is a percentage?

a percent is a ratio whose second term 100. Percent means parts per hundred. The word comes from the Latin phase per centum, which means per hudred. In mathematics, we use the symbol % for percentage.

Where could you find a percentage in an everyday life?

VAT and other such as sales tax. Calculating how much tip to give at a restaurant.

Percent eg.

25% = 25/100 = 1/4 = 0.25

Remaining 75%

5% = 5/100 = 1/20 = 0.05

Remaining 70%

24% = 24/100 = 0.24

Remaining 46%

23% = 23/100 = 0.23

Remaining 23%

3% = 3/100 = 0.03

Remaining 20%

20% = 20/100 = 0.2

Remaining 0%

Tuesday Big maths

What I did today.

The connections i found between fractions, decimals and percentages. The six things I had written down, eg. 35% = 35/100 = 0.35

Plus we got six different colours and coloured in different percentages in the 1 hundred grid and write the key down below which would look something like, 5% = 5/100 = 1/20 = 0.05
