Rachel's Message:
What a wonderful Founder's Month so far. I have enjoyed all the events I have attended. It has been busy. I am thinking ahead of my visit to Lebonon, TN for the Central Tenn District Luncheon. And then my visit to AR Nu chapter in early November. I'm sorry I had to turn down some invitations due to double booking. Reminiscing about our Founders and their thoughts about our future has been delightful. Thank you all for your devotion to Alpha Delta Kappa. This month we are also celebrating our SCR chapters that initiated the most during the spring membership campaign. We'll also be having more Toolbox zooms to learn different tings: next up is learning about Connect. These are posted on as videos after the zooms on the website. There are a lot of learning videos that you can use for programs at your meetings or at officer meetings. Let's all be talking to our chapters about the International Convention in July in Kansas City. Perhaps you could have a soup dinner and charge to raise money to help send a few members. Maybe a yard sale or silent auction. It is costly to attend when you include travel, registration and food. Any help would be appreciated by your attendees. Conferences and Conventions give a member a whole new feeling of sisterhood and expand their sisterhood friends outside the state. In attending you get to see our leadership up close and personal as friends and sisters. Make your plans for KC and bring a carload of sisters.
And as we approach Thanksgiving, I am thankful for what Alpha Delta Kappa has given to me since 1982. I am thankful for my many friends all over the world made through Alpha Delta Kappa. I am thankful for you, the members and officers turning in the reports and holding great programs that attract new members. Very thankful for you efforts.
Fraternally,
Rachel Shankles, IVP SCR
