Ever feel like your professional development needs something? Ever feel like you want to see some of the things you learn, or research put into practice in a real, live environment? Need to see it happen in the 'real world.' Well, here is YOUR chance!

The SUSD Learning Labs are designed to provide you the opportunity to preview lessons, observe strategies in practice, and then dissect and share out reflection on those lessons. Lessons are primarily geared towards classrooms in our one to one environment.

Adult participants will have the opportunity to see a technology rich, one to one environment with 5th grade students who are attending as members of the Los Amigos Safari Adventurer's Club. All lessons are designed and created collaboratively with a District Technology Coach delivering the instruction. Facilitation will be provided so that the reflection component allows participants to have meaningful takeaways each week.

Lab Schedule:

4:00 - 4:30 Participants will preview the days targeted focus

4:30 - 5:20 Participants will move to live classroom for observation & notes

5:20 - 5:45 Participant discussion, takeaways, & closure

Learning Lab First Focus: Applying Management Techniques and Strategies Digitally (Learn, etc)

Thursday, Nov. 7th, 4-5:45pm

Los Amigos Technology Academy

The first half hour will focus on preparing participants with background on the class, purpose, objectives, etc. At 4:30, we will move into the "Safari Club" class for an hour lesson. Participants will focus on set-up, proactive management, and reactive management. Once finished, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the strategies presented, dialogue, and dissect the experience as well as take home some strategies that they might employ in their own classrooms.
