THE RAPP REPORT Anita "RAPPS" It Up
Beautiful BlueBlood Steakhouse at Casa Loma
While it might feel like steakhouses are a dime a dozen in Toronto, there's a new steakhouse in town that's putting every one to shame. I had a very special evening at BlueBlood. The food and the service were exceptional, the ambiance was superb. This is a world class facility that will make the city proud.
Torontonians can now dine like royalty at Liberty Entertainment Group's newest locale Blue Blood, a swanky steakhouse located in the city’s most well-known heritage property, Casa Loma.
In 1914 when building Casa Loma, Sir Henry Pellat scoured the earth to find the best materials possible for finishes in his castle. For the Conservatory floor he selected a Calacata Pink Marble from Portugal-Lagoa, Vila Viçosa. One hundred years later, while designing BlueBlood Steakhouse, Nadia Di Donato (pictured above) scoured the earth to find pieces which would compliment the magnificence of the castle. The entryway lions (circa 1920) which she found in Italy were carved from one piece of solid marble from the same Portuguese quarry. This type of creative detail is evident throughout the rooms of BlueBlood.

A look back at some very practical, very blunt advice from Canada’s most outspoken money expert.
Gail Vaz-Oxlade, Canada’s no-nonsense money expert, retired last year (comfortably, we presume). And seeing as she made her exit while the debt-to-income ratio of Canadians crept towards a record high, Vaz-Oxlade’s trademark real-talk on saving, spending and expensive lattes is sadly missed. Here are some of Vaz-Oxlade’s wisest, timeless nuggets of personal finance wisdom.
