What is Depression?

Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest.

Warning signs of depression

  • Isolation
  • Fatigue and/or lack of energy
  • Beginning to use alcohol or drugs

Warning signs of suicide

  • Feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness, excessive guilt feelings
  • Frequent thoughts of death
  • Death themes in artwork or written work

Signs of self injury

  • Cutting
  • Breaking bones
  • Picking and pulling hair and skin

Help available and/or resources

  • You could go to a therapist
  • Call a hotline
  • Go to friends and/or family
