SWA and Dr. Seuss
Yes, that said, "Dr. Seuss!"
Students at Smyrna West Entertain Elem. Students with a Fun Morning of Reading
It may have been a belated birthday celebration (thanks to the recent snow days), but it was a great one nonetheless. Twenty-three amazingly brave and excited students celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday by reading to students in grades PreK-5 on the morning of Tuesday, March 11. Spending ten minutes in each class, the pairs of students entertained children by sharing carefully chosen books. They created costumes, collaborated on speaking parts, and even danced to make the books come alive. The students responded with laughs and smiles, yelling, "Read it Again! and Read another one!"
We are proud of each Smyrna West student who participated for stepping out of his/her comfort zone, trying something new, and serving the community by sharing the love and value of books and reading with younger students. Kudos! Visit Mrs. Messerly's blog to view a quick video of the day's event: www.messerly.edublogs.org
