- The majority of the feedback was positive. Great work!
- The needs parents are expressing are the same as in past surveys. They are seeking feedback (personalized) on assignments that are returned. Thank you for all of your efforts to communicate what students are doing well and how they can get better.
Additional Staffing for 2020-21

Focus on What's Important
Distance learning is a constant challenge for everyone. Frustration levels can be intense at times and you may feel like you are being torn in all different directions. As you enter into the last month of school please consider the following:
Focus on Yourselves and Your Family First:
- Take some time each day for yourselves, even if it's 15-20 minutes. Carve out a little time where no one can bother you and do something for you.
- Take time to take care of your families. When stress levels are on the rise, take a break,-leave the house, go for a walk, play a game.
- Set some work boundaries for yourself. It's easy to find yourself working at all hours of the day when you work from home. Make sure you shut down your work day to find time to decompress.
- We want our students and their families to do the same, taking care of their needs first to make sure they are feeling emotionally and mentally well.
Connect with Kids:
- Take time to connect with kids personally. How are they doing? What are they needing?
- Continue to make videos for instruction and feedback. Kids love seeing you.
- Continue to hold Meets with kids. This gives them a chance to see other peers and you.
Provide Engaging Learning Opportunities:
- Continue to focus your lessons around your identified essential skills/power standards. What do you really want kids to learn? Keep it simple for you and your students.
- Provide specific feedback to students in order to help them continue to grow. What did they do well? What can they do differently to do better?
- Continue to communicate with parents about concerns and how their kids are doing.

District Message: Web Pages for Staff
A google form was sent to all staff on January 14th with a due date of Valentine’s Day. This form provides an opportunity for all members of the MPSD to share information about themselves. This info will be used by the Student Learning Office to create web pages off the staff directory highlighting how proud we are of all employees. Please contact Tiffany Gates or Jessica Deprey with questions related to this work.
