Weekly Update-Volume VI Issue 31

Congratulations to Mrs. Williams and Camden HOSA! Jordan Bowes won 2nd in the State for Clinical Nursing and Natalie Best won 5th in the State for Extemporaneous Writing last week. Jordan will go on to Nashville TN in June to compete at Nationals!

School Improvement Team Meeting

There will be a School Improvement Team meeting Tuesday at 3:15 in the media center.

Tides Game Picnic

Several of you have asked about having another picnic at Harbor Park and watching a Tides game. They have actually called me several times to see if we were interested in returning. If you are interested in going, please let me know early this week so we can get the ball rolling.

COA College Liaison

Camden County Schools has partnered with College of the Albemarle to provide our students with a college liaison once a week. Kelvin Brown will serve as our liaison and will be on campus Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00. If you know of a student who has potential but no college plans, you can refer them to Mr. Brown. More information will be forthcoming.

Leave Requests

There have been several instances this year where the office was unaware that employees were taking leave. Although this has not been common, it is imperative that you inform either Mr. Berry or Mrs. Harris if you intend to take leave. This will allow us to ensure that we have substitutes in place for all classes.

Bruin Success

Thanks for your flexibility as we implement Bruin Success. Please keep your students informed of where they should be. If they do not attend their assigned Bruin Boost, they should be written up for skipping class.

Field Trips and Assemblies

To protect instructional time during the final weeks of school, the School Improvement Team discussed the possibly of using Friday, May 6 (also the day of the prom) as a cut-off date for field trips, assemblies, and other events that will pull large numbers of students out of class. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.
