Library Update
This month sees the culmination of our Fall Highly Capable Program, as students are presenting their work the week of February 8th. Our last meeting, on February 23rd, is an opportunity to meet with Dr. Joan Nelson, author of the book Fast Friends.
In library class, we began the New Year with Reader’s Theater presentations. Students performed different plays with the help of an impromptu puppet theater. Students in kindergarten and grade one have been studying Caldecott Award winning books. Our study is aided by a new shipment of books, with both Caldecott and Newbery winning titles. Students in second grade are studying famous African Americans; grades three and four are focusing upon website evaluation.
