Ledy’s Experience, and Contributions to Resolving the Issues of Police Officers Shooting Dogs:

Ledy is a contributing author of the most influential article addressing our cause. The DOJ Article is titled, ‘The Problem of Dog-Related Incidents and Encounters’, and is published on the COPS DOJ website.

Currently, Ledy VanKavage is urging officials in the state of Illinois to implement canine training for law enforcement officers along with a proposed training program. Ledy also has extensive experience, and currently teaches police training programs at universities.

Jennifer R. Edwards, Esq. is the founder of the Animal Law Center. She has turned her passion for animals into a career. She is a frequent legal commentator for local and national television, radio and newspaper regarding the evolution and current state of animal law, as well as on many of the recent high profile cases impacting animals and animal welfare. She teaches continuing legal education courses to other attorneys in the area of animal law, and works hard to pave new paths for legal remedies regarding animals.
