Calendar Change for All Elementary Campuses
The Last Day of School, May 26, Now a Full Day for Elementary Students
TEA requires that students receive 75,600 minutes of instruction each school year. Our elementary students receive 455 minutes daily, and secondary students receive 465 minutes. Due to the snow days missed in February, our elementary school students are 115 minutes shy of hitting the 75,600 minutes after making up the April 1 day. We are required to meet these minutes.
Instead of adding an additional day to the elementary calendar, all Anna ISD students in grades PK-5 will attend the entire day on the last day of school on May 26 in place of the early release. Secondary students are not impacted as they have already surpassed the 75,600 minutes required due to the additional minutes each day. Please don't hesitate to contact your child's campus if you have any questions.
