Has the war in Iraq made the U.S. safer?
I believe that the war in Iraq has made the U.S. safer. Many others disagree. Like presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, believes the war has not made the United States safer, although he wishes it had. On the other hand, Barack Obama does think that the United states is much safer. Although considering Osama Bin Laden has been executed, many people less afraid. After all, Bin Laden planned the attacks on September 11th. Which was one of the reasons for the American military invading Iraq and beginning that war. Many more security checks have been implemented at airports than were conducted prior to September 11th. For instance, before 9/11, no one had to take their belts or shoes off and you could take a drink through security at the airport. In addition, pilots did not have guns in the cockpit as they do today. As you can see, since the terrorist attack of 9/11 and the resulting was in Iraq security measures in the United States have changed drastically. Therefore, I do believe that the war in Iraq has made the U.S. a lot safer.
