Cassidy Culbertson, Angie Meadows and Sue Crosby: For being willing to open their classrooms to a visit from Dr. Rutherford; Our learning conversations ran long and we were only able to get to Cassidy's classroom, but all 3 were willing to have a group of visitors--during the mClass testing window! Thank you ladies!

The Kindergarten and 2nd grade teams: For stepping up to assist with mClass assessments for Ms. Britt's students and Ms. Turner's students. Incredible teamwork by dedicated teachers! Thank you!!

More from...Closing the Attitude Gap

Check your attitude towards your students. Do you believe in them? Demonstration of your belief in them is imperative despite the behaviors they may exhibit and the challenges and obstacles they might be confronted with. To perform at optimal levels, it is required they have the opportunities to be in an environment with educators who believe they are excellent and marvelously made. They must know that someone believes in them and support and love them in spite of.

As you reflect on your week, make sure you look in the mirror and tell yourself, "I am great! I am awesome! and I make a difference!" Without all of you, what we do at Southern Pines Primary would not be possible. Thank you all for all you do!!

And remember, "Every kid needs a champion." --Rita Pierson

We are registered for Global School Play Day!

Follow this link to learn more about it:

Like Outback says: "No rules, just right." There are no expectations for how you will participate in #GSPD but the feedback provided to SIT was that we would definitely participate. Whatever it looks like for you and your students will be AWESOME! The only rule that #GSPD is offering is that it be an electronic free play day--no devices. :) I hope you and your students enjoy spending this time together!

A note from Caring Hearts for Kids of Moore

We will be placing copies of these forms in your boxes.

Caring Hearts for Kids of Moore will kick off our school supply drive on Monday with a few businesses in Moore county helping us. We'd like to know of anything specific the classes may need. If you could, please fill out these forms and email them back to us so we can make sure to try to get the items most needed for students/classrooms. If there are any children in need of clothing in the classrooms, there is a space there for the gender, age and sizes. Please keep the names of the children they put down on the forms as we will only label the boxes with the teachers names and sizes that are on the forms. We hope to have a very successful school supply drive to help everyone out! Thank you all so much for all of your help!!

C is for Crew

Savvy pirates don't sail alone; a crew is essential for success. Connecting with educators, building a professional learning network (PLN), and collaborating with a diverse group of mentors, supporters, and peers is critical.

Embrace the synergy of a great team. Surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you!
