Liberty Park Elementary School Newsletter
Friday, August 7th
Dear Liberty Park Families,
It has been almost 6 months since we have had our students back in the building and the LP staff missed them greatly! Although this school year isn't starting out exactly as we hoped or would have ever imagined, we still had an amazing 1st two days of the 2020-2021!
The School Dismissal Manager system is now up and running! Parents should have received an email today (Friday) from Dismissal Manager with instructions on logging into the system this year. Just a reminder that you only need to set your child's "default" dismissal once. From there you can make adjustments to your child's end of day routine as needed. See below in this newsletter for additional information. Please contact our front office if we can be of any assistance.
Virtual Families - Thank you so much for your patience as the district works out some technical glitches. Our district virtual team of teachers is working so hard to get students connected and learning. If you have questions regarding your child's placement in the virtual program please reach out and we will do all that we can to assist.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great weekend!
Your Principal,
Jason Brooks
School Dismissal Manager
Welcome to School Dismissal Manager! Using School Dismissal Manager with your desktop or smartphone app, you can quickly and easily update instructions when your child's dismissal needs to be changed. School Dismissal Manager notifies the school of your updates so that, effective Monday, August 10th it is no longer necessary for you to phone the school, send notes, or send an email to inform the school of dismissal changes. School Dismissal Manager will provide us with a more organized and efficient tracking system for afternoon dismissals.
The easy-to-use mobile and desktop interface will allow you to make these changes in advance or for the current day. You can also report absences via your app when your student will be absent from school. The mobile app is free for Android and iPhone users.
Once logged in, parents will need to set their child's ''default'' dismissal which is their routine day to day dismissal. Examples include, but are not limited to: Bus ###, Car Rider, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, etc. When ready to select your child's default transportation, select ''Parent Preferences and Student Default'' in the top Menu, you can click on it and change your child's default dismissal instruction within the settings.
When creating an exception for the current day, please note that the cut-off time is 2:00 PM. No changes to end of day transportation can be made after that time.
Here are a few Fast Facts that you will need to know for getting started:
- New parents have been issued a username and temporary password at the top of this email. Returning parents can use their existing parent login credentials. Please use these to login to SDM at www.schooldismissalmanager.com.
- The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the SDM homepage.
- Most parents with smartphones find the mobile app to be the easiest and most convenient way to make changes to your child's account.
- When you login for the first time, you will be required to change your password immediately.
- Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
- As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the SDM homepage. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you further.
- When you start to receive the email notifications of changes or cancellations that are made for your child, please keep in mind that hitting Reply or Reply All on those emails does not reply to the school. If you need to respond to a notification (i.e., to inform the school it is incorrect, provide additional details, etc.) please call the school directly and talk with someone in the office.
- Do not use the Recurring Dismissal feature to put in your child's ''default'' dismissal.
- Each school day, School Dismissal Manager will send a comprehensive dismissal report to the school immediately following the cut-off time, allowing administrators and staff to facilitate a smooth dismissal.
Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
