Principals Message:
Dear Weibel Families,
We have already reached the end of the first trimester. Time goes by so quickly! As we wrap up the first trimester, I hope all of you took the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher during our parent-teacher conference week. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to meet the teacher to discuss the areas of strengths and improvements in both social-emotional development as well as academic progress.
When we return back from our Thanksgiving break, Weibel is going to participate in a Kids Against Hunger food packaging event. We will also collect donations that will support the cost of the meals our students will pack. These meal packages will support those less fortunate locally and around the world via partnership with humanitarian organizations. Donation is voluntary but will greatly help to pay for the meals our students will be packing. For more information please scroll down and also visit www.KAHfremont.org & https://youtu.be/Qgi9APkCqVs for more information on this event.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. As we approach our first break, I wish everyone a safe holiday break. We do have two long breaks coming along and your family may have some traveling plans. Students will take home 2 COVID Antigen test kits to use prior to returning back from our 1st break.
Thank you,
Ms. Lee
Weibel Principal

COUNCELORS CORNER
Happy November!
We hope that you and your students have had a great start to the school year as we head toward the breaks! While you are spending this extra time with your children, we encourage you to speak with your children about Kindness, Empathy, and Acceptance. Whether your child is just starting out in kindergarten or is in their last year here at Weibel, we encourage our students to learn and understand the importance and meaning of these words, as well as to embrace them with their peers.
KINDNESS is using kind words and actions with others. It reminds us of the Golden Rule - "Do unto others how you would have them do unto you". It is always an important rule to teach our children and guide them through using it, even when it feels difficult. Kindness no matter what. Kindness because you know it is the right thing to do. EMPATHY is taking others' feelings or situation into consideration. Even if we don't know everything about another person, we can look at their faces or actions to guess how they might be feeling. This helps us choose how to be kind and respectful. If we see someone struggling with their academics or behaviors, we can choose to help or give them space. Saying hurtful things or replicating those behaviors just because, is not an option. ACCEPTANCE/RESPECT is acknowledging that we are not all the same. We have different abilities, interests, styles, and appearances. It is the beauty of being unique and special in our own way. Talk with your child about how we all have different strengths and difficulties - even if we can't see if from the outside. They do not make us better or worse than anyone else. They just make us know where we have to work harder, or when we may be of assistance to others.
If you need any help having these conversations or if there is any other way we can support your student, please don't hesitate to reach out!
