Holiday Wishes Update
The Foster Kids Party was a huge success this past Tuesday night. BHS students and faculty sponsored over 120 children in the midlands area and hosted them for a party here at school that included gifts, games, singing, and arts and crafts. Stay tuned for more updates on Holiday Wishes initiatives.
BHS hosts Partnership dinner
BHS hosted the Midlands Technical College Partnership dinner this past week. Guests included representatives from Midlands Tech, Richland Two School Board members, and Richland Two Executive Staff members. Their dinner meeting was hosted by the BHS Culinary Department.

Bengal Battalion takes home awards at last week's State Championships
At last weekend's State Drill competition at Airport High School, the BHS JROTC had a lot of success. Jonah Smith, Kathryn Gilstrap, Yolanda Solorzano, and Kristen Goins were crowned state champion color guard. Ja'Keyla Montina and Raven Able were crowned state champion unarmed duet exhibition. The team overall placed third. These cadets did an outstanding job. Go Bengals!

End-of-Course Testing
EOC testing for all Biology 1 classes and all U.S. History classes ending for first semester will be administered during the week of December 16. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY !!!

BHS Information Night
Rising 9th grade students, and other high school students, interested in attending Blythewood High are invited to attend the BHS Information Night on January 9 at 6:30 in the BHS auditorium. There will be a second information night offered on January 22.
Yearbook Deadline Approaching!
The deadline to purchase Senior Ads in the yearbook is December 20. Paperwork can be picked up outside of 401.
Deadline for Winter Transcript Requests
The deadline for submitting requests for transcripts before Winter Break is Friday, December 13th.
Project Cover Up
AVID is still collecting new or gently used clothing items, hats, gloves, scarves, and coats for Project Cover Up. If you have any items you would like to donate, please bring them to Coach Cook in room 401 or Mrs. Boykin in room 519.
BHS Student wins Acting Award
Hunter Davis was awarded an "All-Star Cast" designation for her portrayal of Telemachus in Blythewood High School's, "The Odyssey" performed at the South Carolina Theatre Association's High School One-Act Play Festival held in Charleston November 22-24. The All-Star Cast award recognizes excellence in acting and is awarded to select number of students from the 22 schools represented at the festival. This is Davis's second year receiving this distinction.
Culinary Arts selling Holiday Desserts
The BHS Culinary Department is selling holiday desserts. Pies are $5 and Cheese Cakes are $20. Pies: sweet potato and chocolate pecan.
Cheese cakes: plain, cappuchino, blueberry.
We need the orders asap to start cooking in the middle of next week. Pickup for desserts will be Dec 20th. To order your dessert, please contact Chef Sedio at tsedio@richland2.org
Supplies are limited so get your order in early.
CIP Showcase
Thursday, Jan. 9, at 8:45 a.m., the Community Internship Program students will showcase their career internships and community service projects in the small gym at the school. The COMMUNITY/BUSINESS MENTORS from across the midlands WILL BE HERE with the students.
Impact Aid Forms
All students were given a blue impact aid form to be completed by parents and returned as soon as possible to 1st period teachers. This is important information for our school district that directly affects our federal funding. If you haven't seen this form, please ask your student about it. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
Winter Break
Winter Break is scheduled for December 23 through January 3. Students will return to school on January 6.
