Let’s get grounding!
Learning to find our centre in topsy-turvy times...
Grounding is a core skill that helps us ALL
I would like to thank my daughter, Lily, for helping me with this newsletter. I have a shoulder injury that is preventing me from typing. Lily worked with me to compose this newsletter, putting my words onto the screen and finding my resources with me. Thank you, sweet girl!!
What is Grounding?
“Grounding is an effective way to calm anxiety during a panic attack. In this process, you identify objects around you to help your brain recognize where you are. This creates a sense of comfort because you know where you are and you feel more in control of the situation.“
Dr. Sarah Allen (https://drsarahallen.com/7-ways-to-calm/)
“Earthing (or grounding) refers to the discovery of benefits—including better sleep and reduced pain—from walking barefoot outside or sitting, working, or sleeping indoors connected to conductive systems that transfer the Earth's electrons from the ground into the body.”
However, we are going to focus on grounding for this newsletter. :)
