Pro-Kindness Week at PCMS
PCMS kicked off our year-long kindness theme with Pro-Kindness Week. Former professional wrestler and WWE Wrestling Champion Marc Mero visited and spoke with students about multiple topics, including peer pressure, substance abuse, and bullying. Students were also encouraged to participate in dress-up days through the week. The theme was different for each day and the schedule was:
Monday: Orange is the adopted color for anti-bullying. Wear orange clothing to show your support for treating others with kindness!
Tuesday: “Pair up for Kindness!” Twin Day - find a partner and dress alike as twins.
Wednesday: “All Decked Out for Kindness” Choose your favorite decade and dress up in clothes from that decade.
Thursday: “Nothing Beats Kindness” Wear your favorite team or sports apparel.
Friday: “Random Acts of Kindness” Dress up in mismatching and random clothes.
Thursday the students had a pep rally in the commons where the band played, the choir sang, the cheerleaders performed and the Quaker man even made an appearance.

A Note From Our Nurse:
We are in the swing of the 2015-2016 school year. I hope that you and your student have settled in and are having a good year. Here are a few points of interest that you may or may not be aware of.
If your student has a medical condition or something develops during the school year and you aren’t sure if I am aware, please contact me by phone (317-838-3950) or by email (swallon@plainfield.k12.in.us). Plainfield Middle School does our best to accommodate everyone.
I will contact a parent to get permission each time I give a student medication from our school supply (Tylenol or Ibuprofen). If you prefer, you may provide that medication in the original container with a note from a parent. Your child may then come for the medication whenever they wish. You would not receive notification that they are taking it.
The required immunizations for incoming 6th graders are the Tdap (Tetanus & Pertussis) and the MCV4 (Meningococcal). When your student gets ANY new vaccines, please send documentation in so that the records can be updated. All immunization records must be in by is October 1, 2015, to avoid being excluded from school.
If you are unable to afford necessary medical supplies (including eyeglasses), please let me know and I will try to find assistance.
Please notify the guidance secretary any time that contact numbers change. We need accurate numbers to reach you in case of an emergency.
A big thank you to the following:
-Sara Wallon
