From Dr. Capps...
Before school started this week, I shared a Commencment Speech video with our school staff that Denzel Washington gave several years ago. It was about taking risks about what you are passionate about and having the courage to fail, dust yourself off, get back up and try again. I encouraged each teacher to take risks and to fall forward... for children. I do not pretend to be a perfect principal- I have failed royally many times- and I continue to grow every day. Although these are strange times, I want you to know that we care about you and we care about your children. You may hear us talk about "Capturing Kids' Hearts" and that we are a "Capturing Kids' Hearts" school. We believe at McDeeds that it is our job to make sure that we make sure that every child feels loved, needed, appreciated, and supported. However, we also believe in high expectations at the same time. We want our McDeeds Creek children to eventually leave us as "the best of the best" because we have provided them with everything we could have possibly given them. Please know that we are here for YOU, too. Please let us know how we can support you and your family as we continue to travel through "Plan B" together. I am always a phone call or email away.
We are in this together,
Dr. Molly Capps

Attestation Form
What happens if your child doesn't pass the screening? No worries. We will ask that you pull up and park in our available parking so that we can keep our car line moving. This will also give us time to get our school nurse to support us. Please remain in your vehicle (you and your child(ren) until we can complete the next round of screening- typically 15-20 minutes later in case we received a false reading on our thermometers). Regardless of the outcome at that point, our school nurse and our administration team will be there to walk you through "next steps" and making sure you are fully supported.
Thank you in advance for being patient with us as we start this process on Monday! We have practiced and practiced... but, Monday will tell us what we need to do in order to speed up this process and make this more efficient for us all.
Car Drop Off Procedures
When you pull up, please roll down your window so your child's temperature can be checked. Then you will be asked the three questions on the attestation form.
Bus Transportation
MASKS ARE REQUIRED BY ALL WHO ENTER
After School Daycare
To enroll your child in our program, simply fill out the form located on our webpage (ASDC Enrollment Form) and mail your $40 enrollment fee (per child) to our school. This guarantees your child a spot in our program.
A daily rate of $8/per child will be due at the end of each week.
Children must come to ASDC with their assigned group- Monday and Tuesday (Group A) or Thursday and Friday (Group B).
Our hours will be from 2:30pm (when the bell rings) to 6pm each evening.
All children must be picked up by 6pm each evening or a $25 late fee will be added to your bill so our employees are paid for their overtime.
The ASDC rooms are located on the front hallway. Pick up will take place on the side of the front hallway near the preschool playground.
Children will be required to wear masks and will have to abide by the same safety rules and precautions under the North Carolina State Plan B requirements (implemented during the regular school day).
Children will be given a snack and drink each day; however, it is strongly recommended that children bring a water bottle to ASDC because we get hot & sweaty on the playground often.
A discount will be given for families with multiple children. Please see the table below.
If the district moves to a regular schedule, our ASDC program will open for 5 days a week and return to our regular schedule from 2:30-6pm every day.
**PICK UP - Because our office area closes at 4pm, please walk around to the back of the first hallway for pick up. We will have signs posted by the walkway that will lead you to backdoor of ASDC. Please do not enter the room. Please wait by the door until we are able to get your child ready for pick up. Each child must be signed out every day.
