Denmark joined the Euoropean Union on the 1st of January in the year 1973 but did not found it. They were never part of another country and their currency is thrpe krone. They are a constitutional monarchy.
Legend has it that in 1219, the Danes were on a failing crusade in Estonia called the Battle of Lyndanisse. The crusaders stopped and prayed to God. Then, a flag fell from the sky. The flag was first used 100 years later and is still used today.
Denmark is bordered be the North Sea to its left and the Baltic to its right. It is connected to Germany and close to Sweden and Norway. The country is full of valleys and hills.
The Capitol is Cone Hagen but four other cities are Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg and Fredericksberg.
On summer days the harbour bath in the islands Brygge is one of the trendiest spots in Copenhagen where people come to swim. Sailing is another very popular activity in Denmark.

The highest point in the country is only 170 meters above sea level.


Denmark has 140 islands.


The average wind speed is 7.6 meters per second.
