Soccer Coming to Oakwood Next Year
Parent- Player meeting Wednesday, May 25th 6pm at the Oakwood Soccer Field. Team registration through College Station Soccer Club. Open to future 6th grade dual language boys. Season will start Fall 2016. Other tournament opportunities and soccer camp will be discussed at this meeting. Contact Coach Velez 979-229-8271.
Please remind students to continue to bring their daily supplies to school. These supplies include pencils, rulers, color pencils, scissors, etc.

May 19- Owl Field Day (If we have inclement weather, we will have indoor activites in the classrooms. Our soccer games may be posponed to a later day)

OWL parents, we ONLY have 3 volunteers for FIELD DAY, and we STILL NEED 17 more VOLUNTEERS!!!
Last day to turn in library books and fines for this school year was May 12th.
Some students still owe books and library fines, please pay them ASAP!
We will complete our humor unit by finishing up our humor book clubs. Thanks for a great year!
Last week: Favorite experiments! Our science classes will end up the year with this year's favorite experiments, and we will be needing DONATIONS for each of the activities. If you can help us with some of the materials, please send them with your child.
Monday: Lava lamps (We will be needing vegetable oil, alka-seltzer, and food coloring).
Tuesday: The egg challenge (we will be needing real eggs, about 40).
Wednesday: Rocket balloons (we will need balloons, baking soda, vinegar)
Thursday: Chemical reaction vs. physical change (we will need gummy bears, regular milk (no fat), plastic plates and food coloring)
Friday: Paper planes challenge

Chase Kuppersmith is collecting Spanish books for the children of Guatemala. If you have Spanish books you would like to donate, please bring to school. Our goal is 200. We have collected 48.
Our goal of 500 pair has been reached! Thank you for your charity contributions!
Lastly, we are collecting any type of eyewear/eye protection for Belize. This may prescription glasses, sunglasses, and protective goggles. Our goal is 200 have 56.
