Taxes
Percent of a number in addition to the original amount.
Ex: I had to pay tax on the new T.v that I bought. It was 123.54$ The tax was 6.75% and the tax was $8.34.
Tips
Give a % of the total to the business.
Ex: I gave 20% of the total of my lunch at Bob Evans. My total was 23.19$ I gave her 20% of 23.19$. I gave my waitress $4.64 for a tip.
Discounts
$of of a bill. Savings to you.
Ex: i bought new jeans for $16.00. The discount was 45% off. I saved 45% off my new jeans. I saved 45% of the actual cost. The discount was $7.20 the final sale price is, $8.80
Comission
This car was 10,000 and I had to make a commission on it if I sold it. If I sold this car I would get 7% commission. Commission is the percent of a number.
Mark ups
The buisness gets extra money. High demand so price increases.
Ex: cotton candy maker. The demand is high around Christmas so they raise the price so they have to buy it.
