Words That Are Meant to Last
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.
~ Mark 13
Dear St. Clare School Families,
Whew! What a day... I apologize for this late post: trying to get ahead of the news and keeping up with the updates.
Summary:
- No School
- CKZ Camp OPEN if AQI is under 210; if not, CKZ is closed
- If CKZ goes over 210, parents will be called to pick up students ASAP, even if within an hour of drop off
- Multicultural Dinner is ON! Hope to see many of you there!
Our experience today, with updates on the fly, attests to the importance of words, especially when it means the safety of our children. I will be up most of the night and early tomorrow morning to look for guidance from the sites that publish the AQI to send you more words of updates for CKZ Camp. Thank you for reading the words and I apologize for their frequency.

MINISTRY FAIR | Sunday, Nov. 18 after all masses
On November 18, our parish will be holding a Ministry Fair after all the Sunday masses. There will be a "booth" for St. Clare School and a booth where you can sign up to give online using We Share. Come by and visit and sign up to serve in the life of the parish. I hope to see you there!
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEWEST AMERICAN: Fr. Tad
Finally, the importance of words that matter and words made to last resonates today: Fr. Tad took his oath to become a U.S. Citizen. Congratulations! Having taken that oath myself in July of 1979, I understand its importance and significance. It's one I take to heart each day.
We wish Fr. Tad many happy years as an American!
Grateful to be able to use words every day.
Mindful that words used and delivered bring joy and life, not misery and pain.
Humbled to know that Jesus will remains with us through His words.
Peace to you.

Gospel Reflection | Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time | 18 November 2018
Mark 13:24-32
In this gospel reading, Jesus is answering his disciple’s questions about the end of time (either personal or the end of humanity). The lesson from Jesus is clear in his parable about the farmer: look for the signs and be prepared to account for your life when you "know that He is near, at the gates." Jesus is also alluding to his own death and resurrection, and the fulfillment of the new covenant - "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." In other words, follow the 2 primary commandments of the new covenant (love God, love thy neighbor), and be prepared for the last judgment.
