Davis Elementary Monthly Newsletter
October 6, 2023
Dear Parents & Guardians,
The start of the school year is always an exciting time! September was a busy month, and our students have settled in nicely! We hope this format of monthly newsletters will provide you with more consistent building-wide communication throughout the year.
We have had a much more successful parent drop-off and pick-up process! Thank you so much for getting your children here for the 7:45 am start time each day! Just a friendly reminder, if your child needs to eat breakfast at school they may be dropped off anytime after 7:00 am as they typically need about 15 minutes in the cafeteria.
This year, as we aim to provide our students at Davis Elementary with more social and emotional learning opportunities, we have adopted the Positivity Project (P2). Below you will find a family letter with detailed information about the philosophy and the character strengths our students will be learning about. In October, we will spend some time introducing the "Other People Matter Mindset" followed by the character strengths of "Curiosity" and "Teamwork". On a weekly basis, we will be recognizing students from each classroom for demonstrating the weekly character traits. They will be honored with a medal to wear for the day, a certificate, and a photo taken in the lobby.
We are looking forward to collaborating with you for a wonderful school year!
