Field Day Reminders!
Friday, May 17 is field day at Bristol Elementary!
A couple of quick reminders for the big day:
It looks like it will be a warm day. Make sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather and activities. Students may also want to bring a water bottle to help stay hydrated.
Keep those toes safe! We highly recommend close toed shoes for the days activities on the blacktop.
Change of clothes? Part of the fun planned as several water based stations. This will help keep us cool but it also might mean some wet clothes.
If you would like your child wear sunscreen we ask that you please apply the sunscreen before they head to school on Friday morning.
Field Day Fun for 3rd-5th, 8:40-10:40, Field Day Fun for K-2nd, 12:00-2:40.
Thank you! We are looking forward to all of the field day fun tomorrow!

5th Grade Celebration!
Welcoming New Teachers to Bristol!
We are very excited to announce new additions to the teaching staff here at Bristol Elementary school for the 2019-2020 school year.
Our first new team member is actually a familiar face! Justine Fields will be teaching Health and Physical Education full-time here at Bristol Elementary school. She currently teaches both here at Bristol and at Steger Sixth Grade Center and serves as the district Health/P.E. Coordinator.
Joining our Fifth grade team for next year will be Dr. Amber Swopshire. Amber is joining us from Iveland Elementary in the Ritenour School District. We are planning an opportunity for Dr. Swopshire to come meet her class for next year before the end of this year.
Joining our Kindergarten team for next year will be Mrs. Claire Wiese. Claire has served as an early childhood educator and taught Kindergarten at Captain Elementary in the School District of Clayton. Mrs. Wiese is currently serving as a Long Term Substitute in First Grade here at Bristol.

We want to spread the word that the time to register is now. As we are planning for the new year (staffing, ordering materials) is important that we have an idea of how many students we will be serving in the Fall. Any help you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated!

Little Statemen Store
The Ambrose PTO has gained permission to open an online Little Statesmen Store specializing in spirit wear for the youngest of children in the district (infants through preschool). The High School Parents Club graciously shared their designs with us so we could be the providers for little kids. Please help our PTO support the Ambrose Center by sharing this information. The store will be open for three weeks so timing is everything.

Arrival Reminder
Please help us with traffic flow
Because of our location arrival and dismissal are challenging. There are a few things that can help:
- No Parking Zones: Please observe designated No Parking zone on W Cedar heading away from Bristol. Cars parked here slow traffic flow and create an unsafe situation at the crosswalk. Thank You!
- U-Turns: Please do not make U-Turns on Gray or in the intersection or Gray & Cedar during arrival or dismissal. This slows traffic flow and creates an unsafe situation at the crosswalk. Thank You!
- Drop & Go: Please refrain from parking and exiting your vehicle during arrival & dismissal times. If you must park please pull all the way down Gray or park on a neighboring street.
Thank you!
