Storybook Pumpkin Contest

Celebrate Literacy!

Join us for some fall literacy fun the week of November 2nd!

Choose your favorite book character & decorate a pumpkin to look like the character. Real or fake pumpkins...big or small....it doesn't matter! Remember that pumpkins must NOT BE CARVED...only decorated! All of the entries will be on display in the library & will be judged on Friday, November 6th. All students are invited to join in the fun! Prizes awarded for the winning pumpkins!

Contest Rules

This is a home project and pumpkins should be done mostly by students. Pre-K thru 2nd grade students may work with parents to complete a pumpkin as a “family.” 3rd-5th grade students should do most of the work themselves with only some assistance by parents. Middle & high school students should do all of the work themselves. Judges tend to give more points to projects where the student work is evident. :)

Entry Forms in the Library

Fill your entry form out when you bring your pumpkin. You must write the title and author of the book. If you have a copy of the book, please bring it in with the pumpkin.

Roll your pumpkin in the week of November 2nd....not before. Pumpkins accepted all week. Drop them by the library.
