Literacy Coach Caserole
- A variety of approaches (depending on the flavor of your school)
- 2 cups of collaboration
- 5 handfuls of examples
- A dash of research
- 3 cups of experience
- A pinch of patience
- 2 bunches of focus on student outcomes
- 1 cup of commitment
- 2 tablespoons of organization
- 1 pint of resources
- 2 squeezes of support
*be sure to avoid putting any judgement into the mixture as the results will be unfavorable
Before starting ensure to have completed Reading Parts 1, 2 and 3 and put the experience in the freezer to stay fresh.
Begin by trying out a variety of approaches until you find the one that is the best fit for your school (this may take several months). While trying out the approaches let commitment and patience simmer on a low flame. During this period begin mixing collaboration, experience (remove from freezer) and organization in a bowl until thoroughly blended. Add research and focus on student outcomes and then bring to boil in a medium pot, adding examples once prepared. Cover and let stand on a medium flame for the time being.
Once the reciprocal relationship between the teacher and coach is established sprinkle with resources and support and bake at 450°F for as long as needed to ensure student success.
*If a friendship between the coach and teacher develops, do not be alarmed it will just give your casserole a sweeter flavor.
