May Reflections
We are very close to the end of the 2015-2016 school year, and what a great year we have had!!! Our teachers have worked extremely hard with your children in preparations for continual learning. Please help keep that momentum going by encouraging your child to read a minimum of two books per month in June and July. Summer reading programs:
- help children and teens retain and enhance their reading skills over the summer;
- provide a haven and a community for readers; and
- are a valuable outreach tool for libraries
Thank you to our parents, teachers, and staff for an amazing year. We look forward to an even greater 2016-2017 with increased parental involvement and PTO/School Council.
Why Summer Reading Programs Matter
During my research for helpful tips to parents, I was able to find some awesome resources for you and your family from the California Library Association. Please take a moment to read this article and support education over your Summer Break.
