ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL - January 27th, 2023
*DEDICATION*GROWTH*COMMUNITY*
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
General:
Kudos to Future City students for presenting your projects at the Regionals. They will be presenting in front of the Chandler City Council on Feb. 9, 2023. Wish them luck. Congrats to VEX Robotics for another wonderful tournament. The team also hosted their very first tournament at ACP. All 5 teams have qualified for the State competition on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023. 2023 Innovation fair will be on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 in Chandler Downtown. With so much happening, please make sure you are taking time to prioritize tasks, seek guidance and support as needed from your family and ACP staff.
The 6th & 7th Grade registration dates are set for next week, February 1-3. Guidance counselors will be visiting Social Studies classrooms to discuss elective options for the 2023-2024 school year. The course selection sheet is due no later than February 13.
Safety:
Parents - we need your help!! We are seeing an increase in safety violations during both pick up and drop off. At no time should a student cross the main street. PLEASE DO NOT PICK UP/DROP OFF your student anywhere but through the drop off/pick up lanes. It may seem like the lines are slow but you get through the lines within 5 minutes (quicker for drop off). A student's and staff safety is worth the 5 minutes. We beg you to follow the signs and the pick up/drop off procedures (I attached it below for your convenience). It is imperative that we follow the procedures especially as we plan to expand in the 2024-2025 school year. If you have questions, feel free to email me. Thank you to those of you who have been following these procedures from day one and for being patient as we fine tune. Please spread the word to friends that have students here in case they do not read the bulletin.
Opportunities:
- All 8th graders will again participate in Pre ACT 8/9 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 during the early release instructional day. Additionally, back by popular demand we will offer the PSAT 8/9 to interested 7th & 8th graders on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The fee for the exam is $20. Please use this form to sign up for it.
- ACP Student Council is selling valentine candy grams starting next week from 1/30-2/10 during lunches! Candy grams will have one lollipop and a valentine note attached and will cost $2 each. When purchasing the candy grams, please bring either change, 1 dollar bills or 5 dollar bills.
- Parents/Guardians - If you have an interest in being part of the Budget Committee for fiscal year 2023-2024, please email me. The first meeting for 2023 will be held on Feb. 8 at 4:30pm. It will start with a school finance 101 presentation, a review of the projected budget for 23-24, and then dive into the first draft of the budget request for next year. The meetings will be held in the CUSD Training Room at the District Office, 1525 W. Frye Rd., Chandler, 85224. Subsequence meetings will be held on Feb. 22 & March 8 at 4:30pm.
Thank you,
Manjula K Reddy

Field Day
At ACP, we push students to strive for the impossible and be extraordinary. We will reward their efforts with a celebratory Field Day on Friday, April 21. ACP's first Field Day will include morning sessions with guest speakers on topics including mindfulness, healthy habits, career and goal setting, and other topics to pique students' interest. The afternoon will include several fun activities for students including outdoor games, food trucks, inflatables, music, and friendly competitions around campus. We are looking for parent volunteers to help plan the event, recruit guest speakers for the morning, reach out to various outside vendors, and welcome our ACP parents and adult relatives to be guest speakers at our morning sessions. To volunteer or explore being a guest speaker, please contact Melissa Stoloff at melissa.stoloff@gmail.com or Mrs. Reddy at reddy.manjula@cusd80.com.
Special Note:
This semester we will be running weekly tardy reports. Following their third, unexcused tardy and for each subsequent unexcused tardy, students will be assigned 10 minutes of community service which will be served during their Friday AcLab. Parents will receive an email notification any time community service is assigned. Please contact Fred DePrez (DePrezJr.Fred@cusd80.com) with any questions or concerns.

PLEASE MAKE A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Arizona tax law allows individual taxpayers to claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in AZ for support of eligible activities and programs.
At the junior high level, the school office is unable to reallocate / redirect funds without parent and district approval. Be sure to select the specific fee for the activity where you want your payment applied. Sports fees are assigned quarterly and club fees are assigned once established.
When paying fees online (band/ orchestra, club or athletics fees, etc.), please consider making an additional contribution to our general fund in December to reach the maximum credit allowable.
http://az01001175.schoolwires.net/page/1131
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School or if you have a family member that resides in AZ, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
