Our busy October continues this week as we begin recognition of Peace Week, prepare for our Walk to School Day and assembly tomorrow, and look ahead to Halloween events and Parent/Teacher Conferences. You will find additional information about each of these upcoming items below.

☮️ Peace Week Information

Since 2003, schools and districts have been observing Peace Week (School Violence Awareness Week) during the week beginning with the third Monday in October, which is Oct. 17-21, 2022, as required by N.J.S.A. 18A:36-5.1. Lawrence Brook Students and Staff will participate in lessons and activities to learn about peace, inclusion, and ways students can use strategies to solve conflicts as part of New Jersey's Annual School Violence Awareness Week. For ways families can support our students' positive social interactions, see information below.

🤝 Parent Teacher Conference Information

Conferences will take place in person this school year and will be scheduled for 20 minutes each. Starting on the afternoon of Thursday, October 20, you will be able to schedule a conference with your child's teacher/s by logging in to Parent Portal. Online scheduling will CLOSE on the afternoon of Thursday, October 27.

Conference times are:

Tuesday, 11/1 & Thursday, 11/3 - Evening Conferences 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Wednesday, 11/2 & Friday, 11/4 - Afternoon Conferences 2:00 PM - 3:40PM

Please note: 11/1 - 11/4 are EARLY DISMISSAL days for students. School will end at 1:35 PM. Lunch will be served.

Trunk or Treat - Oct. 26th

Trunks are still needed for our second annual Trunk or Treat, sign up here. Purchase your tickets to attend on MemberHub by Oct. 22nd. The PTA is asking parents to make a candy or non-food item (temp tattoos, etc) donation to help our Trunk or Treat event. All donations due by Oct. 21st.

Tricky Tray - Sunday, Nov. 20th, Forsgate Country Club, 12pm - 4pm
