MESSAGE FROM NURSE OMAYRA
Nurse Omayra would like to remind our families to please keep your children home if they are sick! This will help us keep our school and community safe. If at any point you are unsure of what to do please call your pediatrician. Nurse Omayra is also available for support. onieves@framingham.k12.ma.us.
Our goal is to keep everyone in school healthy and engaged in learning. You can help us by monitoring your child's symptoms every morning before sending them to school. These are the symptoms of COVID-19 to look for:
Fever 100 F or 37.7C or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
If your child has ANY of these symptoms, do not send them to school. Be sure to call your health care provider and your school nurse to let them know that your child is staying home with COVID-19 symptoms. Your child must be cleared by the school nurse to return to school.
If your child has symptoms, take the following steps:
Get your child a PCR test (preferred) or BinaxNow rapid test administered by a health-care provider.
Over-the-counter, self administered COVID tests will not be accepted.
Your child should be symptom free for 24 hours (without any fever-reducing medication) before returning to school.
Provide test results to your school nurse and wait for clearance from them to return to school.
Call your school nurse if you are unsure of what to do.
