DISTRICT WALK-THROUGH 9/27 TUESDAY
It's all hands on deck this Tuesday as we welcome our first district walk through. A district walk through includes administrators and curriculum coordinators who visit classrooms and walk through our hallways to get a temperature gauge on how things are going this year. They will be focused on three domains which should have been shared with all teachers during grade level CPTs this week.
District Walkthroughs will include BMS content leads and administrators. If you are part of the walkthrough schedule, you can expect 2-3 people to visit your room for 15 minutes. The schedule is not made available to teachers in advance as there is no expectation to change or make adjustments to plans on account of the visit. We are sharing who we are, what we value, how we teach, and how we prioritize learning for all students. Some minor recommendations include: making sure content and language objectives are posted in print (and not just on your smart board), using and referencing accountable talk stems, reducing Teacher Talk Time (TTT), and utilizing wait time to hear from a range of voices in the classroom. In addition to the academic focus, people want to ensure that students have voice and that the learning is student-led, keeping teacher-direction to the minimum needed. It's everything we are already doing and working on! If you have questions, reach out to your ILT rep or your grade level administrator before Tuesday!
