OLSON OUTLOOK

EDITION #7 - WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23, 2019

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT! COLOR YOUR WORLD WITH BOOKS

Please join us this Thursday, September 26 from 6pm - 7pm for an evening of reading, snacking, sharing of strategies, and motivation for independent reading! Remember we're ALL working to complete the 40 Book Challenge this year!

The Woodstock Public Library will join us to help all students get library cards.

Families will visit 6 areas of the school. Each area will focus on a reading strategy that will support our developing readers. There will be snacks, free books, raffles, games, and chances to win prizes!

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

On October 9th and 10th we welcome parents to come to school to meet with teachers to share information about students' progress and additional ways to provide support for growth in both skills and confidence. Please watch for information about how to sign up for a day and time that works for your.

There will be several opportunities at conferences for you to provide feedback to guide our program and supports for families and students. You will be asked to complete a survey, to sign up for Dojo, to visit the Book Fair, and to help set goals for your child's continued success.

CLOTHING SWAP

During Parent Conferences in October, we will provide a "CLOTHING SWAP" for families to recycle and reuse winter clothing items. This is an opportunity to share clothing with another child and/or to find items that you may need for your child as the weather becomes colder.

We are asking for donations of boots, hats, scarves, gloves, snow pants etc... items that are still in gently worn condition but that your child has outgrown. These will be made available to other families who may need items for colder weather.

Donations may be brought to the school office beginning September 30. We will organize and display items during Parent Teacher conferences. Thanks so much!
