Eighth Grade Students Write Letters of Love to Ukranian Children
Programming Update on The Most Costly Journey
To go along with the Vermont Reads book The Most Costly Journey, there are some exciting opportunities for you and your students coming up:
April 6 - Migrant Justice panel discussion in the library from 11:00am-12:00noon
May 23 - Villalobos Brothers outdoor concert from 11:00am-12:00noon
- Marek Bennet, cartoonist & editor of The Most Costly Journey, workshops 10:00am-11:00am and 1:00-2:00pm
Please let me know if you are interested in attending any or all of these events. The panel discussion and concert are during HS ARE time. We'd love to have MS students join us, so if you are an MS teacher and need help making arrangements, please just let me know.
Save the Date - Teen Lit Mob - May 5!
Teen Lit Mob is In Person This Year!
Save the Date! Teen Lit Mob 2023 will be live at South Burlington HS (w/ a virtual keynote option) on Friday, May 5th.
Teen Lit Mob is Vermont’s only teen literary festival, and it aims to connect teen readers and creators to authors and illustrators; connect teen readers and creators to each other; celebrate YA literature and its fandom; represent, honor, and affirm underrepresented voices and identities; and promote the Green Mountain Book Award.
This year's program will include a keynote presentation from Printz Medalist and National Book Award finalist An Na; and workshops with acclaimed spoken word poet Rajnii Eddins, Center for Cartoon Studies faculty members Dan Nott and Darryl Seitchick, Vermont Book Award finalist Margot Harrison, and local author Benjamin Roesch.
Teen Lit Mob is open to all Vermont teens, age thirteen through high school.
