8th Grade Parents:

SAVE THE DATE!

8th ONLY-grade students will be completing the Illinois Science Assessment on Wednesday, March 24th and Thursday, March 25th. Please check your email for specific details for both in-person and full-remote learners participating in ISA. As with every test, please make sure your child is well rested, has a good breakfast and is on time to school for testing on these dates. This will help set them up for success as they take these tests. They will need to bring the following items to school with them for each day of testing:

  • Chromebook FULLY charged and ready to go

  • Earbuds - (check to ensure they are working, please)

  • Healthy Snack

  • Water Bottle

8th Grade End-of-the-Year Celebration:

We have had some parents inquire if we are going to have an 8th-grade celebration. Absolutely! We are working with our PTO, along with our partners at TMS, to make sure we have an end-of-the-year celebration for our 8th graders. Check back in future editions of the Friday Forecast for more details. We will have further information available closer to the end of the school year.

Dean's Assistant Opening at WMS!

We have a 4 hours per day Dean's Assistant opening at Wredling. Our Dean's Assistants monitor our hallway and public spaces. Hours are from 10 AM to 2 PM. We are looking for someone who is friendly and patient! If you are interested, click here to apply.

5 Reminders for After School Pick Up

Just a reminder to parents...

  1. You need to pick up kids at the Norris Center parking lot after school, not off the Dunham Road driveway, Kirk Rd, or Fox Chase Blvd roadways.

  2. Go slowly and be aware of all students and cars in the lots, crossing the roadways.

  3. You need to pull into a parking space in the Norris lot.

  4. Please follow all posted signs and arrows.

  5. Parents may NOT pick-up students from our back parking lot without permission from Mr. Loversky (ex. due to injury). They will receive a pass for this purpose. We have too many smaller buses trying to pick up students from this area.

Thank you,

Tim

A reminder from the school nurse…

State legislation requires that all Illinois children in Sixth Grade will have a dental examination. A licensed dentist must perform the examination, and he or she shall sign the form. Dental offices should have the form available, but it is also available online at www.d303.org under Departments, then Health Services, then “Health Documents and Forms”. Each 6th grade student must present proof of a dental examination by a dentist prior to May 15, 2021. The exam must be dated within 18 months prior to May 15, 2021. If your child has had an exam already, you can ask your dentist to complete the form for the exam.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has established a waiver for children who show undue burden or lack of access to a dentist. Parents or legal guardians who object to the dental examinations on religious grounds shall present to the school a signed, detailed statement of the objection.

The deadline is quickly approaching! Please submit this if you have not already done so.
