Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is the development of symptoms following exposure to a traumatic event.

What are some signs and symptoms of this disorder?

  • nightmares
  • flashbacks
  • disturbing mental images
  • avoiding people, places, or activities that remind them of the event
  • loss of sleep and easily startled.

How does the disorder affect someone who has it?

The disorder can affect people by making them stressed, lose friends, act "jumpy", and have lack of sleep and concentration.
