Virtual PTO Meeting Tomorrow!

Please join us via Zoom for our first virtual PTO meeting tomorrow (Monday, October 5, 2020) at 6:30pm:

Attendance UPDATE!

It is important that you call the attendance line at 732-431-3910, option 1 for the following reasons:
  1. To report your child absent if he/ she is neither well enough to come to school nor attend school virtually.
  2. If your child is not feeling well, and he/she is scheduled to attend school in person, please keep your child home. He/she may still access school virtually and be marked present for the school day. However, you must call the attendance line to let us know.
In either case, please leave a message with your child's name, grade, specific reason for absence, duration of absence (if known), and your relationship to the student.

Picture Day

We will have two options for Picture Day this year: Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Both days, pictures will be taken at the entrance of the school between 2:00pm and 6:00pm. There are no appointment times -- come whenever is convenient for you! Please have your child wear a mask until it is time for his/her picture to be taken. Following is the picture form:

To order your child's pictures online, please go to and enter the preorder code: Eisenhower 2020. We will not be sending picture order forms home with students this year. If you would prefer to order by picture order form, Kids At Heart Photography will have printed forms on site. You may also print the form (see paragraph above) at home and bring it with you on picture day.

If you are unable to make it on either of these days, we will be scheduling a makeup day in the near future.

Chromebook Distribution for 6th Grade Students

Good news! The brand new 6th grade Chromebooks have arrived. We are excited to distribute them on the following days:

  • Tuesday, October 6, 2020 (Cohort A)
  • Friday, October 9, 2020 (Cohort B)
  • Thursday, October 15, 2020 (Virtual Students)

For Cohort A and B Students: On your child's scheduled day, please make sure he/she brings his/her Chromebook and charger to school to exchange it. Only students who have a Chromebook and charger to exchange will receive a new Chromebook. If your child is not present the day your child is scheduled, we will take care of it the next time your child is in school.

For Virtual Students: We will provide more information the week of October 13, 2020. The exchange will occur during the afternoon, after the school day has concluded.

Genesis Student Portal Accounts

All DDE students received an email last week inviting them to access their Genesis Student Portal account. This account will allow them a developmentally appropriate avenue to access their own gradebook and keep track of their progress.

Need to translate the Genesis Parent Portal into another language?

To see your child's Genesis Parent Portal in another language:
  1. Sign into Genesis.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  3. Look in the bottom left corner where you will see the prompt to select the language, as pictured here.

Covid Daily Parent Form

As Nurse King shared in the newsletter she sent two weeks ago, every morning your student attends school in person you must complete the Covid Checklist in Genesis. This allows us to ensure that students who are entering the building are healthy and safe. If you do not complete the checklist, we will have to pull your student out of class to assess him/her. In an already abbreviated day, we do not want your student to miss instructional time for this. Please please please fill out this checklist each morning! Follow the steps below:

  1. Log into the Parent Portal.
  2. Select the "Forms" tab.
  3. Under "Forms Library" you will see the "Covid Daily Parent Form." Here are the questions it will ask you:
  4. Please complete, hit SAVE and then SUBMIT (see screenshot below).

If your child is not feeling well on a day he/she is scheduled to attend school in person, please keep your child at home. He/she may still access school virtually and be marked present for the school day.

Your cooperation with this will help us in our efforts to maintain a safe and health learning environment for all students and staff.

Front Office Safety Precautions

  • No visitors permitted in the building
  • No items may be dropped off for your student
  • If you have to pick your student up during the school day, you'll remain outside and we will deliver him/her to you

Mask Reminders

Please make sure your child enters the bus and/or arrives to school wearing an approved mask. It is also suggested that your child regularly carry a few backup masks in his/her backpack in case they are needed.

Free/Reduced Lunch

If you would like more information on our free/reduced lunch program, as well as the online application, please see the link here:

If your child had free/reduced lunch benefits, you need to reapply each year. Last year's benefits will expire on 10/22/2020, so please reapply if you have not done so already.
