Fulton Flier
Week of March 8th
Last week, we welcomed 60 students into the building for in-person learning and we are looking forward to welcoming our Prek-2nd grade students next week! To support our families of our primary learners who will be joining for in-person learning, we will be hosting a Parent Q&A session on Thursday at 6:30. If you have any questions regarding your child's hybrid experience and he/she is in PreK-2nd grade, please stop by using your child's HCPSS log-in at code:FESPrimary. There will be a similar Q&A session for parents/guardians of our Intermediate students on March 25th.
We are so proud of the way our staff has continued to work as a team to support all of our students, regardless if they are learning with us in-person or virtually! We are also extremely proud of our students! Our virtual students quickly adapted to the new schedules and our in-person students are doing a great job following all of the safety protocols! And a big shout-out goes out to our parents/guardians who are supporting both students and our staff long the way.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, tanisha_burks@hcpss.org.
Warmly,
Dr. Burks

Message from the Health Room
SPRING ALLERGIES have started. Does your child suffer from seasonal allergies? The following are some things you can do to help your child during the allergy season:
1) Regularly give allergy medication as prescribed by the doctor.
2) When your child comes in from outdoors, the following may help alleviate symptoms:
- wash hands with soap and water,
- wash off face, including glasses, with a washcloth or splash water on face,
wipe down from head to toe with the wet cloth, and
change clothing, if not going back outside.
3) Try not to allow your child to go into the bedroom with the clothing worn outside; this will prevent pollen from falling onto the bed.
If your child is newly diagnosed with seasonal allergies, please inform the health room by emailing Ms. Christina Toler christina_toler@hcpss.org or Mrs. Kathleen Wurstner at kathleen_wurstner@hcpss.org.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A GREAT WAY TO MOTIVATE YOUR CHILDREN TO READ?
We are partnering with Nothing Bundt Cakes in Columbia to provide a SWEET incentive for our students to read. All you have to do is print out the Reading Tracker and use it to have your child/ren log their daily reading time. Once your child has read for at least 400 minutes, you and your child/re can bring the tracker the bakery and Nothing Bundt Cakes will reward them with their flavor choice Bundtlet.
Please review the Parent Letter for more information and you can print out the Reading Tracker here.
We will be partnering with Nothing Bundt Cakes for the month of February and March.
