Lobes
Parietal- Gerstmann’s syndrome, right left confusion, difficulty writing, difficulty w/ math, disorders with language, inability to perceive objects normally
Occipital- loss of visual capability, inability to identify colors, hallucinations, severe vision loss, total blindness
Temporal- Disturbance of auditory and visual perception, disturbance of language comprehension, Impaired long term memory
Function of the Lobes
The function of the frontal lobe is connected to reasoning, parts of speech, movement, emotion, planning, problem solving and short term memory.
The function of the parietal lobe is connected to movement, orientation, recognition and perception of stimuli (such as pressure, temperature and pain).
The function of the occipital lobe is connected to visual processing.
The function of the temporal lobe is connected to recognition of auditory stimuli, perception, movement, speech and long term memory.
Concussion
Experiencing a second concussion before first has healed can cause fatal brain swelling, Post concussion syndrome, and Loss of memory.
