Sharing the Good News about St. Peter Claver Catholic School

August 14, 2022

PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Dear SPCCS Community,

The 2022-23 school year is off to a GREAT start! Thank you to all who attended Back-to-School Night last week. It was wonderful to see all the parent support! Please take a few minutes to read and scroll through the newsletter this week; it is filled with helpful information and links. All attachments will be uploaded to RESOURCE DOCUMENTS in the FACTS Family Portal for future reference. The school website has been updated and we are rebuilding the information, content and photos.

Thank you all for completing and submitting your Re-enrollment/Enrollment applications. This process is essential to updating information in our SIS (Student Information System) as well as scholarship and financial compliance and management with StepUp and the Diocese. We need all enrollment applications complete as soon as possible. Feel free to contact us in the School Office where we are waiting to serve you.

The Parent-Student Handbook will be available next week and families will be required to read and sign the Acknowledgement Statement. Look for this in next week's edition.

Have a blessed week!

ATTENDANCE REMINDER

Every moment matters. Regular attendance and punctuality have a marked influence upon scholastic achievement. State and Federal school laws require that accurate records be kept of student’s attendance. Students who are absent from school for more than 20 days per school year for unexcused absences may be required to repeat the grade and/or attend summer school at the discretion of the school administrator.

VPK, School Readiness and all scholarship agencies do monitor student’s attendance and tardy records. Any student with excessive tardies and absences’ could risk losing these funds. The agencies may also require doctor’s notes be uploaded.

While we understand life happens and may cause us to be late or absent from time to time, please make every effort to ensure students are consistently present and on time to school each day.
