THE AVIATOR
THE RISE OF ROBERTS
Roberts,
This year I received data to back up what I already knew about you. In last year's STAAR grading system, we received an “A” in progress. This means we are meeting our students where they are regardless how low or high they come to us. This means we don't make excuses here at Roberts. Thank you for buying into small group instruction and making it your own. You pulled students based on "real time data" and tailored the instruction to meet their needs. Roberts, believe it or not, you are lifesavers to "ALL" our students. You took what you had and made it better. It is that simple. I think the world of you and you should be proud.
As we go forth into the summer, I want to summarize everything I want you to grasp before you leave. I want you to lean into your struggle and use it to become strong. This will not happen unless you adopt a growth mindset. Please be cognizant that if you adopt a “why me” and a victim mindset, you will never experience what it takes to be a leader. When you stumble and fall in your path to greatness, don't just pick yourself up, but clean the floor while you are down there. This means you have to cultivate habits that will drive success in your life. You must change the habits that limit you from maximizing your full potential. I refuse to be a principal that does not challenge you to be your best at all times. My vision of Roberts is to build an institution of developing leadership, create an optimal learning experiences for our students, and build a culture that puts family first.
Let us make this last week of school the best! You are loved and valued here at Roberts.
